Plans submitted for Anetic Aid Baildon move

A planning application has been submitted for the development of two units at the Baildon Business Park. Block 9 is a 15,000 sq ft unit for medical equipment manufacturer and distributor Anetic Aid, while the neighbouring 14,000 sq ft block 8 is being built speculatively.

The application, made by Manchester’s AEW Architects, comes just a month after the site’s first unit was approved by planners at Bradford Council. Construction of the 28,000 sq ft production facility for precision engineering firm Produmax is set to start this summer.

Mark Taylforth from Pendle Russells, the joint venture developing the site, said: “We’re on track with the second application going in this week following the agreement with Anetic Aid, and a further two applications on the drawing board. With construction set to begin on the Produmax facility we’ll soon see this exciting new business location really start to take shape.”

Anetic Aid is set to relocate its high tech maintenance, sales and distribution teams from an existing site in Guiseley to the new 15,000 sq ft facility in order to allow the team and range to grow. The existing workforce of 26 will move to the new site and expand to around 40 over the next few years with additional servicing engineers.

Andrew Curtin, sales director of Anetic Aid, said: “We supply, service and maintain a large and growing range of hospital theatre equipment and the demand is such that we will be recruiting over the next few years. This will require a new workshop for our skilled service and maintenance engineers, and more space for the sales and distribution team. We were looking for a site that would offer a state-of-the-art workshop but that was close to our current home to remain local for our employees and suppliers. Baildon is less than three miles from Guiseley and will give us a new facility that we’ve been able to specify ourselves, with ample parking, in an idyllic location. ”

Baildon Business Park offers a total 140,000 sq ft of business space, with 11,500 sq ft of restaurant / retail available on the road frontage. The site has outline planning for B1, B2 and ancillary B8 units up to 60,000 sq ft, and agents are currently in discussions with another eight interested businesses.
